HONG KONG (SE): Paris Foreign Missions Father Nicolas de Francqueville ran 70 kilometres from Sai Kung to Tuen Mun as a prayer offering for Hong Kong.
The assistant parish priest of the Holy Redeemer Church, Tuen Mun, started his journey at Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung, on the morning of November 15. Following the path of the Trailwalker Race, he arrived at Yuen Long that evening and came across a mountain fire. So he ran to Shatin through Needle Hill and finally arrived at Tuen Mun by bus on the afternoon of November 16.
Father de Francqueville posted a message on Faceboook upon his return to the parish explaining that he could not complete whole journey, not because of physical limitations, but due to safety concerns because of the mountain fire in Yuen Long.
He said held a crucifix in tight in his hand while running and prayed for Hong Kong; it gave him strength to give all to God.
He said he met many friendly people who talked with him. They offered each other encouragement amid the sufferings in Hong Kong.
Father de Francqueville urged people to use their talents and be instruments of peace.
