
(RVA News): The Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC) Central Committee has named Father John Mi Shen from the Diocese of Zhaoxian, China, as the executive secretary of the FABC Office of Social Communication.
Father Mi’s appointment was approved on March 12, and his tenure takes effect from 1 January 2025, and run until 31 December 2028, with the possibility of a second term.
The FABC expressed gratitude for Father Mi Shen’s acceptance of this role and acknowledged his leadership and valuable contributions to the mission of social communication in the Church across Asia.
His appointment reflects the FABC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communication efforts within the Church and fostering deeper engagement in the digital and media landscape.
Father Mi Shen was born on 25 January 1980, and was ordained a priest on 18 June 2010. He obtained a Doctorate in Sacred Theology, majoring in Social and Pastoral Communication, from the University of Santo Tomas [UST], Manila, the Philippines, in 2024.
He served in his home diocese from 2010 to 2012 and played a significant role in promoting a Bible study movement in mainland China, the Little Rock Scripture Study Programme.
From 2012 to 2018, he was the coordinator for the Mandarin Service at Radio Veritas Asia, Manila, Philippines. That same year, he began teaching in the Social and Pastoral Communication Programme at UST as an associate lecturer, a role he continues to hold.
Since 15 August 2024, he has been serving as the programme director of Radio Veritas Asia, further strengthening his commitment to pastoral communication and evangelisation through media.

His leadership and unwavering commitment significantly advanced the mission of fostering effective communication within the Church across Asia.
