How do we make sense of this Covid-19 pandemic which threatens our very existence and shakes the global community? We may have different views or perspectives regarding this issue but one thing is sure — we are all adversely affected and gripped with fear. The escalating cases suggest that indeed we are facing a tough battle against this infectious virus.
Men’s hearts are failing as we see things getting out of hand despite drastic measures being adopted to deter this outbreak. People panic, get paranoid, become immobile and look helpless in the midst of this man-made catastrophe.
Is there a panacea for this crippling global malady? Where do we go for help? In time like this, we should not lose heart but look up. Our help comes from above. The Omniscient One still holds the rein of the universe in his hands and from his celestial abode he surveys the earthly panorama with keen interest. Despite the tumult and complicated interplay of human events let us rest assured that he still guides the affairs of men.
What we need most is a closer relationship with our Creator, a deeper knowledge of his will, a tighter grip upon his promises and the realisation of our utter dependence upon him. Let us remain steadfast and be at peace for his deliverance is certain and his name will be greatly exalted among all nations.
