
HONG KONG (SE): Sister Anne Nguyen Dinh Bang Tram of the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres, passed away peacefully St. Teresa’s Hospital on May 21, after 20 years as a religious. She was 48-years-old.
Sister Anne Nguyen entered the Province of Saigon, Vietnam, on 21 September 1997 and made her first profession on 10 June 2001. She worked as a nurse at the hospital. After making her Perpetual Profession on 29 July 2006 she was sent to Hong Kong as a missionary on December 29 of the same year.
In Hong Kong, she studied Cantonese at the University of Hong Kong for two years. After her studies, Sister Nguyen was sent to work at St. Paul’s Novitiate, Causeway Bay until she fell sick and was hospitalized.
While at the novitiate, she was responsible for teaching the novices how to sew. She also also helped at Christ the King Chapel and work half days at St. Paul’s Hospital.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on May 31, at 10.00am at Christ the King Chapel, Causeway Bay, followed by the funeral at St. Michael Cemetery, Happy Valley.
