The “hope” candle lit on the first Sunday of Advent represents our excitement for the coming of Jesus and the hope he brings to our world. It reminds us of God’s promise to send his only Son on that first Christmas Day to save us from sin. It is a special period of waiting and expecting our Saviour. This season is full of hope as we remember that God sent Jesus to save us and keep his promise of salvation.
During this time, I want to find new beginnings and chances to grow while walking with Jesus. I pray that God helps me have a forgiving heart, allowing me to let go of past pain and heartache. I also ask for guidance as I face the challenges ahead for myself and my daughters.
As Advent comes closer, I hope to fill my heart with peace and forgiveness, not just for those who have hurt me but also for myself. Healing is important to me, especially after facing sadness and disappointment from my own decisions. I wish to find strength from Jesus, looking for the light even when times are tough.
Advent is not just about hope; it is also about peace and love. I want to create an atmosphere of love and understanding in my family. It has been a long time since we could celebrate together properly. For me, celebrating is not about having big meals but about joyfully remembering our Lord Jesus, who was born in a humble setting. I hope we all remember the true meaning of this season in our hearts.
As we prepare for Jesus’ arrival, I also hope for an end to conflicts in many places and for lasting peace on Earth. I pray for everyone affected by disasters like typhoons to find joy again in their lives.
Ultimately, I hope we can share love with one another, reflecting the love God has for us.
