Anxieties in a super typhoon

Anxieties in a super typhoon

My heart aches every time a powerful storm like Typhoon Ragasa hits. While still worrying about my family back home facing relentless floods in the Philippines, I was also dealing with the aftermath of this storm in my workplace. Water was leaking from my employer’s windows, and I found myself kept drying out the floors, feeling the weight of this crisis.

Climate scientists emphasise that these powerful storms shouldn’t be occurring with such frequency or intensity, and it’s disheartening to recognize that climate change is a driving force behind it all. I urge everyone to consider our environment seriously. Every action we take contributes to the planet’s health, whether it’s reducing waste, conserving energy, or supporting sustainable businesses.

As we witness these increasingly severe weather events, it becomes crucial for us to stand together for climate action. Let’s support sustainable practices, and show compassion for those affected by these disasters.

Our collective efforts can create a safer world for our families, both here and in the Philippines. Together, we can make a difference for our next generations.
