Guiyang (RVA News): Four deacons were ordained to the priesthood at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary [Beitang] in Guiyang, Guizhou province, China on November 21.
According to Faith Press, Father Paul Xu Chao, Father Dado Zhang Jing, Father Joseph Liang Shixing, and Father Luke Lu Shaobo, received the Sacrament of Holy Orders during a solemn liturgy.
The Mass was presided over by Bishop Paul Xiao Zejiang of Guiyang, with Bishop Paul Meng Ningyou of Taiyuan—who preached the deacons’ pre-ordination retreat—concelebrating.
Nearly 800 faithful, including priests, religious, and lay representatives from across the diocese, gathered to witness the momentous event, according to Faith Press.
Expressing gratitude, Father Xu articulated his resolve to remain faithful to God’s call: “On the path of priesthood, I will rely wholeheartedly on God’s grace, never give up, remain humble in service, and bear witness to the Lord’s love.”
