On December 26, St. Joseph Church in Garden Road, Mid-Levels, hosted a “Christmas Concert for Peace”, focusing on the hope for harmony in a troubled world. The theme of the evening aimed to inspire prayers for those in power over matters of war and peace.
The concert featured eleven choir groups, including special guests from the Bethany Choir from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the United Friendship Choir from St. Vincent Chapel in St. Andrew Parish.
Each group presented performances that conveyed messages of peace, love, and celebration during the Christmas season. Highlights included interpretations of well-known carols and uplifting pieces that resonated emotionally with the audience.
The event was structured into two segments, with the first focusing on traditional themes of Christmas and reflection. Following the first part, Sister Weronika Maria Klebba, SSpS, led the Jubilee Year 2025 prayer.
The second segment showcased joyful and spirited selections aimed at celebrating unity and community.
Father Joseph Tan, SVD, the parish priest, acknowledged each performing group with certificates of appreciation and expressed his gratitude for their efforts at the end. The concert concluded with a final performance by the St. Joseph’s Community Choir, and blessings were imparted to the congregation, marking an inspiring night dedicated to the spirit of peace and togetherness.
