You have seen the best and the worst in me
My many shortcomings and limited ability
You love me for who I am despite my fallibility
You are indeed awesome, O God Almighty
You look beyond my flaws and odd personality
And see a gem you can polish beautifully
Though I make mistakes and falter easily
Stiil, you lovingly forgive and show mercy
I may have hurt and let you down unintentionally
Through my unwise choices and irascibility
As I easily give in to doubts when things get awry
And become discouraged, sullen and grumpy
But thank you Lord for reaching out to me
When I’m broken, bruised and weary
For being there in my moments of perplexity
Reassuring that your grace is sufficient for me
Thus with contrite heart I come to you humbly
Give me the wisdom to do your will completely
Help me to live a life that delights you each day
And be victorious in my Christian journey
