MANILA (SE): Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelisation, was appointed the new titular of the suburbicarian diocese Albano, by Pope Leo XIV on March 24. The pope was the previous titular when he was Robert Cardinal Prevost, before his election to the papacy, CBCP News reported.
The Diocese of Albano, located just outside Rome, is one of seven suburbicarian sees historically associated with cardinal bishops, the highest-ranking order within the College of Cardinals.
Prior to receiving the title of the Suburbicarian Church of Albano, Cardinal Tagle had served as cardinal priest of the Church of San Felice da Cantalice in Centocelle since 2012.
