MANILA (SE): “Public service is not just a career—it is a calling. Your integrity can be a beacon in a time when distrust often clouds political issues. In a world fractured by division, your leadership can be a bridge.”
Bishop Ruperto Santos of the Diocese of Antipolo, the Philippines, said on August 16, CBCP News reported.
Speaking at the Diocesan Jubilee for Government Officials at Santa Ursula Parish in Binangonan, Rizal, the bishop urged public servants to pursue leadership rooted in compassion, wisdom, and a deep sense of purpose. He reminded them that true legacy is not just written in laws, but in the lives they touch and the communities they help flourish.
Santos said the Jubilee, a time for renewal and recommitment, should inspire leaders to pause, reflect on their calling, and renew their dedication to serving the greater good.
“May your legacy be written not only in legislation, but in lives changed, communities uplifted, and justice made real,” he added.
The event was attended by government officials from Rizal province and Marikina City. Nina Ricci Ynares, the governor was among those present.
The Diocesan Jubilee for Government Officials is part of the Church’s Jubilee Year, themed “Pilgrims of Hope.” This initiative encourages leaders and the faithful to serve with integrity and promote hope in their communities.
