BEIRUT (SE): Pope Leo XIV, prayed for the victims of the Wang Fuk Court fires at the end of Mass in Beirut’s waterfront district in Lebanon on December 2, Vatican News reported.

“I have not forgotten the victims of the Hong Kong fires and their beloved families,’ the pope said.

Addressing 150,000 attendees, he also promised to pray for peace in the Middle East and for everyone affected by war. He added, “I also offer my prayers for a peaceful resolution to the current political conflict in Guinea-Bissau.”

“I make a heartfelt appeal to the political and social authorities here and in all countries where war and violence are taking place: Hear the cries of your people for peace!”

Pope Leo concluded by urging Christians in the Levant to have the courage to express the love of the entire Church for them, and he called upon Our Lady of Harisa for protection.
