The example my papa set in my life has shaped my faith, character, and even my career—not through words, but through the way he lived with integrity. By watching him, I learned that integrity means doing what is right even when no one is watching. His honesty, responsibility, and consistency showed me that faith is not only spoken but demonstrated in everyday choices and actions. Because of his example, I learned to carry myself with confidence while valuing truthfulness, accountability, and respect for others. He taught me that a person’s character is built by staying true to their values in both good times and difficult moments. His integrity strengthened my faith, teaching me to trust God and to live with sincerity in everything I do.

Dad, my memory of you being a father to us is a bit mixed—I recall you being very supportive at the start then later becoming an alcoholic which was very challenging. While there’s still a lot that could be improved, I know that you did your best to be a father in the ways you knew, and that’s enough. I learned a lot from you, and I’ll use those lessons as I build my own family. It is our turn now and let us give back to you and Mama for all the sacrifices and the love. See you soon!

Pa, I want to take this moment to tell you how deeply grateful I am for you. You’ve always given us a love that felt perfect and complete. You sacrificed so much to give us the life we have today, and we became the persons we are because of the choices and sacrifices you and Mama made for us. You gave up time away from us just to provide the future you always dreamed for us. Thank you for always reminding us to put God first above all else. Happy Father’s Day, Pa. You are, and will always be, the person I look up to in this life.

Growing up, my father didn’t just talk about faith—he lived it. As a parish servant, he faithfully brought our family to church every week, introducing us to a community rooted in love and service. It was through his dedication and the quiet examples set by both of my parents that I first began to see how God actively moves in our lives. Seeing my dad serve others with such joy and steadfast commitment shaped my own character. He was a tough man, but everything he did showed how deeply he cared for us, teaching me that purpose comes from serving something greater than yourself. Because of the deep, unshakable faith I saw in him, the challenges and storms of life don’t shake me. He showed me that when your foundation is built on trust in God, you don’t have to face tomorrow with fear. His gift is the resilience and peace I carry with me today, knowing that whatever comes our way, God is always providing. Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you.

Dearest Tatay, Happy Father’s Day. I would like you to know how grateful I am to be your son. The world changes but you are my constant. Our relationship is far from perfect but it’s what makes it uniquely beautiful. It reveals our vulnerabilities and weaknesses where it led us our way to know God, both our constants. Odds may not be in your favor most of the time but that doesn’t keep you from making sure that us, your children, is favored by you by believing in our abilities and constantly making us feel we are worthy to be proud of. I may not always say and show it but I’d like you to know that I am proud of you, my constant. I love you, Tatay.
