HONG KONG (SE): A significant milestone for the Canossian Family took place on August 29, as Sister Heidi Ho made her first religious profession at the Canossian Missions Chapel on Caine Road.
During the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Guadalupe Father Gabriel Altamirano Ortega, Sister Ho’s vows were received by mother provincial, Sister Virginia Wong.
In his homily, Father Altamirano urged Sister Ho to remain faithful in following God, whose enduring love is unending. In response, Sister Ho professed the vow of chastity, poverty, and obedience as a total offering of herself to God. At the conclusion of the Mass, she expressed gratitude to her father, the Canossian family, and all those who supported her throughout her vocational journey.
Reflecting on her spiritual path, Sister Ho noted that Father Altamirano had baptised and confirmed her during her teenage years, and, after years of discernment, she found it especially meaningful to make her profession in his presence.
Following her profession, Sister Ho will join the St. Francis Canossian Community and take up a teaching role at St. Francis Canossian College.
The Canossian Sisters extended their appreciation to all relatives and friends who participated in the ceremony. They ask for continued prayers for Sister Ho as she embarks on her new mission, hoping she will serve as a joyful witness to God’s love.
