New leaders for Pastoral Sisters Association

HONG KONG (SE): The Pastoral Sisters Association of the Diocese of Hong Kong convened their regular meeting on September 30 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Tai Po.

Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Ha Chi-shing, spiritual director of the group, gave a talk on the Final Document of the Synod on Synodality and the promotion of synodality within the diocese. 

He emphasised the core themes of walking together, shared responsibility, transparency, and attentive listening to the Holy Spirit. The bishop urged all present to move from the listening phase of the synodal process into active implementation, guided by both the Holy Spirit and the local Church community. 

Bishop Ha also expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the steadfast commitment and dedication demonstrated by the pastoral sisters across the diocese.

An election followed to choose the new team leadership  for the coming term. Institute of the Foreign Missions Sister Mary Rani was elected chairperson, Sister Eden Tabudlong of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception will serve as vice-chairperson, Sister Sophia Rani of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions will take up the role of secretary, and Sister Maria Jero of the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará will be treasurer.

The newly elected team extended a warm invitation to all pastoral sisters in the Diocese of Hong Kong to actively participate in the Pastoral Sisters Association. They highlighted the value of dialogue, mutual support, and sharing of pastoral experience as vital to enriching their common mission in service to the Church.
