HONG KONG (SE): The gymnasium of St. Teresa’s Church on Prince Edward Road, Hong Kong, came alive with splendid colors, music, and cultural performances on October 4, for the celebration of Pistahan 2026 of the St. Teresa Filipino Catholic Community (STFCC).
Guided by the theme Sama-samang Maglalakbay sa Pagkakaisa at Pag-unlad (We Journey Together in Unity and Progress), the event brought parishioners together to honour their shared faith and rich cultural heritage. The day’s stage was filled with traditional performances reflecting the Philippines’ diverse history, complemented by engaging parlor games and special surprises for attendees.

The afternoon began with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and welcome remarks from the STFCC president. Inspirational messages were delivered by Father Bernardo Cervellera, Father Stephan Law, and the newly-elected president of the parish pastoral council.
Spiritual reflections centred on the life and legacy of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Affectionately known as “The Little Flower,” St. Thérèse’s teachings on simplicity and deep faith resonated throughout the messages. Speakers encouraged the congregation to follow her “Little Way”—striving for holiness by carrying out ordinary, everyday tasks with extraordinary love and trust in God.
The three-hour programme featured a steady lineup of choral music, traditional dances, and expressive performances, offering community members an opportunity to share their creative talents in a spirit of fellowship and thanksgiving.
The celebration concluded with a closing prayer of gratitude, leaving attendees with a renewed commitment to live out their faith through quiet, daily acts of service and devotion.
