On April 3, Cardinal Stephen Chow SJ, the bishop of Hong Kong, was warmly welcomed at Bạch Lâm Parish, the Diocese of Xuan Loc, Dong Nai province, Vietnam. The parish’s Facebook page said that a bilingual Mass was celebrated at 6.00pm at that the cardinal won many accolades from the children of the parish.
Cardinal Stephen was impressed that over 2,000 children participated in the Mass.
“Believe it or not, it was Children’s Mass of the parish. Close to 2,000 children were present. I presided the Mass in English. Children were well coached to respond in English. Only my homily was translated into Vietnamese,” the cardinal recounted.
