With the further stablising of the pandemic situation, the Government is implementing the second stage (19 May – 1 June 2022) of the relaxation of social-distancing measures as scheduled. Bishop Stephen CHOW, S.J., has therefore announced related pastoral guidelines, effective from May 19 and until further notice —
- The maximum number of persons at each religious gathering (e.g., a weekday or Sunday Mass, or a wedding) is increased from 50% to 85% of the normal capacity of the venue (church or Mass centre) [no restriction for participants at funerals];
- the Diocesan Pastoral Guidelines on the Resumption of Public Masses and Group Gatherings and Arrangements for Opening Religious Premises, as announced in the Chancery Notices dated 20 April 2022 and 6 May 2022 respectively, remain effective.
Given at the Chancery Office,
18 May 2022.
