My role model saint is Mother Teresa of Calcutta, because of her devotion, love, and compassion not only to the Catholic Church but especially in helping the poorest of the poor around the world. She’s a very affectionate person and made a complete surrender of herself for the poor and lived among them to experience their lives. Though it is impossible to imitate her, for me as a baptized Christian, serving the Lord wholeheartedly is all I can imitate from her. To be holy is not easy, but as long as I believe and have faith that Jesus is Lord, that is all that matters.

Truth be told, with the many saints that we have, it is hard to know them all, especially their works and how they became saints. The first saint I have known since childhood is our patron saint, St. Vincent Ferrer, a well-known friar in his time, a preacher of penance and converter of many sinners. He was known to care for the sick, especially children, and was a miracle worker with the gift of tongues.
I choose him because he used his profession and talents to win more souls for the kingdom of God. I seek God’s grace to use my knowledge for his greater glory, just like St. Vincent Ferrer, and may God give me a heart full of empathy.

Mother Mary is my role model for a saintly life. She accepted the will of the Lord and serves as a model of faith and obedience for Christianity. In our devotional prayer, we always seek her intercession on our behalf. We know that Jesus listens to his mother, and I believe in the phrase, ‘To Jesus through Mary.’ Mary is a path to a closer relationship with Jesus. She is very compassionate and listens to the needs of the faithful.

I choose Saint Francis of Assisi as a role model saint because of his simplicity and humility. He loved nature and was very compassionate and kind. He dedicated his life to serving the poor and had a deep faith and connection to God.

Saint Pope John Paul II… I really admired him for his courage and determination. Even when I face difficulties, I find strength to overcome fear and obstacles. I admire his perseverance and joyfulness, as he had the power to engage modern audiences with eloquent preaching. His personal humility and modest view of one’s value inspire me to be a better listener and put others’ needs before my own. I want to embody the qualities of Saint Pope John Paul II to become a better person in public and in the eyes of our Lord.”

My favorite role model saint is St. Francis of Assisi. His love for God extends not only to humans but to all creation, reminding us of our responsibility to care for what God provides. St. Francis believed that true happiness comes from God alone, through serving and leading others to Christ. I strive to please our Lord and pray for the grace to be an instrument of God’s love, joy, peace, and hope. As St. Francis said, ‘It is in giving that we receive.”
