HONG KONG (SE): Saint Francis University announced the establishment of the Centre for Applied Ethics [CAE] to integrate Chinese traditions with religious humanitarian principles, in a press release on May 14. Grounded in positive moral values, the centre aims to explore cultural intersections and ethics through academic research and community engagement.

The CAE will focus on six critical areas, including technological development and human dignity, business ethics, healthcare ethics, bioethics, social ethics, and environmental ethics.

By guiding students to draw wisdom from Chinese and religious cultures, the centre will collaborate with various university departments to embed professional ethics into all curricula. Furthermore, the university plans to launch a Master of Arts in Ethics and Religion to equip students with deep ethical discernment and the ability to navigate complex social challenges.
