
(LiCAS News): The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Diocese of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, China, commissioned 16 extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion during a Corpus Christi Mass on June 7, according to Faith Press.
During the liturgy, 13 ministers were recommissioned for another term of service, while three received their first appointment.
The commissioning rite took place following the homily. The candidates processed to the altar and publicly pledged to carry out their ministry faithfully, deepen their love for the Eucharist and the Church, and serve the faithful with charity.
The parish priest then presented each minister with a pyx and a letter of appointment. Their mandate will be valid for three years.
According to Faith Press, the celebration concluded with prayers for the newly commissioned ministers and for the continued growth of the Church’s mission of service, communion, and pastoral care.
