I am working here in Hong Kong for almost 10 years. At first I encountered a lot of trials to the point that I wanted to give up. But I always put in mind that the reason why I came here is to help provide for my family. Through prayers and by the help of my community, I enjoy working here now. Every week I’m looking forward for a rest day that I may spend out with friends, go to church and pray. I can walk safely or just sit in a park if I’m alone, enjoying the peaceful, clean, beautiful surroundings, unlike before when I was working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I did not have day off, could seldom to see other people and could only go out if my employer would take me somewhere with them. Also, there is no time difference between Hong Kong and the Philippines so I can communicate with my family easily.
